The change of seasons are exciting, especially as this spring dawns on all our anticipation for the first growing season of Abundance Acres. But with spring in VT, also comes mud season. Wet earth, slushy snow, slop…mud. Of course there are things that keep us busy despite the mud. One favorite spring activity in the backwoods of Vermont is maple sugaring! While not really cost effective/productive at this scale, it is pretty amazing that sap can be collected from trees and boiled down into a sugary golden goodness, that lasts all year long!
