The Dark Side is starting to take over our hen yard with the addition of Darth Vader, a year old rooster, from a family in the community. His crows that now echo around Abundance Acres are strange to get used to, and even Meadow, our dog takes notice. Our hope is that Darth will keep a watchful eye on the hens, warning them of predators. We may eventually even try hatching some of the eggs to carry on the flock in a more economical manner. Most likely these chicks will be dubbed ‘Storm Troopers,’ but I digress.
