Newly Tilled Field
The first field of Abundance Acres was tilled a few weeks ago. The farm is already reaping an abundance of rocks and roots as these fields have been covered in forest for the past 80 years. After tilling an harrowing we planted buckwheat for weed suppression, ground cover and biomass production. We hope that this cover crop will improve and protect the soil for the remainder of the summer months, before we but the fields to sleep for the winter.
