2015 Seedling Sale

Abundance Acres has a limited amount of potted Tomatoes, Cabbages, Broccoli and Cauliflower for sale. Try something new in your garden this year with some of our unique varieties! Supply won’t last long! Plants are available in four-packs or four inch pots. Price is $2.50 per container or donation. Plants will be available at Abundance Acres after Sunday, May 24th. The following is a list of the varieties we have available and a short description.

Peppers:

Early Jalapeno: Hot pepper, small green to deep red fruit (3 inches).

Hungarian Hot Wax Pepper: Not overly hot, 5 inch fruit, sunset ripening peppers (yellow to orange to red).

Thai Hot Pepper: Seriously hot, ½ to 1 inch fruit ripen red.

Golden Cal Wonder Sweet Pepper: Good for northern climates, ripens golden, superb for fresh eating.

King of the North Sweet Pepper: Able to produce good sized peppers in short, cool seasons, ripens red, thick-walled.

Red Ace Sweet Pepper: Easy to grow, resists blossom end rot, ripens red, great taste.

Brassica:

Green King Broccoli: Hybrid, blue green color, very tender, uniform ripening, takes heat well.

Green Super Broccoli: Hybrid, deep green, excellent performer in erratic weather, after primary cut plants produce good side heads.

Melissa Savoy Cabbage: Hybrid, light green, 2-4 lb solid, slightly flattened head, good grower in cold wet conditions, adapted for close spacing, can grow twice the size given high fertility and wide spacing.

Ruby Perfection Cabbage: Hybrid, deep purple-red, 4-6 lbs soild, spherical head, ‘hard as rock,’ great storage cabbage.

Tribute Cabbage: Hybrid, green color, 12 lbs head, great for storage.

Candid Charms Cauliflower: Hybrid, white color, 3-4 lbs fruit.

Graffiti Cauliflower: Hybrid, brilliant purple, good sized heads, performs well in heat, slow to head in cool weather, color fades to bluish-purple when cooked.

Tomatoes:

Gardener’s Sweetheart: Indeterminate, mini apple shaped cherry tomato, sweet flavor, prolific fire-engine-red clusters.

Sun Gold Cherry Tomato: Indeterminate, amazing flavor, prolific yellow clusters, produces early till frost.

Amish Paste Tomato: Indeterminate, good flavor, good for canning or slicing, deep red color, 8-12 oz fruit.

Black Icicle: Heirloom, Indeterminate, unique fruit, good for eating, burgundy-brown fruit.

Cosmonaut Volkov Tomato: Indeterminate, good for slicing and eating, deep red color, 8-12 oz fruit, produces well in cold summers.

Goldie Yellow: Heirloom, Indeterminate, good for slicing and eating, golden yellow, large fruit.

Kellogg’s Breakfast: Heirloom, Indeterminate, excellent for slicing and eating, golden skin, 16-32 oz fruit.

Old German: Heirloom, Indeterminate, good for slicing and eating, golden streaked, redish skin, 1.5 lb fruit.

Pruden’s Purple: Heirloom, Indeterminate, firm, meaty with few seeds, good for slicing and eating, dark purple-pink skin and crimson flesh, 1 lb fruit.

Purple Cherokee: Heirloom, Indeterminate, good for slicing and eating, dark purple to brick-red color, 13 oz fruit.
